After downloading Dave Eckerts' Eclipse 500 source file I started work using FSDSv2 and 3 to get all the animations working. Dave informed me where to get an .air and .cfg file from, John Cillis who had uploaded his version of Dave's Eclipse. John Cillis gave me much advice on the correct size of the engines and windows. He was also invaluable in explaining to me how to do the virtual cockpit and night lighting effects on the gauges. Much thanks to you both. I hope you like my rendition of the Eclipse.

I have also added animated female pilot and passengers, something I like to do as I think it adds to the overall model. I also cut the hole in the fuselage and made the animated door although I'm not sure if it is absolutlely accurate to the real aircraft. I've also made some new textures and mapped them to the model. I also re-modelled the panel using FS Panel Studio.

(The only reason I've called the aircraft 'Eclipse 500 VLJ MkII' is to differentiate it from John Cillis's aircraft which is in my aircraft folder. Also while re-designing it in FSDSv2 and 3. It has nothing to do with an actual Mk 2 in the real world. Re-name the files if you wish but don't forget to re-name everything in the .cfg, the .air file, the .mdl file etc.)

Below is copied from John Cillis's Readme:
----------------------------------------------
TAKEOFF

The aircraft should rotate nicely with one notch of flaps @ 89 kts. I set the initial climb speed/climb rate at 225KIAS/2000 fpm. I maintain this speed throughout the climb, tapering the climb rate off to 700-1000fpm above FL270.

CRUISE

With four pax and luggage (the default loadout) and a cruise speed of 225KIAS (380 KTAS) @ FL350, the Eclipse is good for approx 1280NM range. Note that the aircraft will need about 90 pct. fuel in the tanks with the default loadout--going above that will take the aircraft beyond MTOW.

DESCENT

I cut the throttle to maintain approx a 2000fpm descent. This should keep indicated airspeed in the 230-240kt range.

LANDING

I approach with full flaps and approx 100-110kts airspeed. The Eclipse will touch down nicely at between 75-80 kts. There are no reversers, but it should easily stop on a 2500 ft. runway if you touchdown at the right point.

Above from John Cillis but actual speeds may vary as my loading is different. Once the undercarriage is down this slows the plane acting as a speed brake as in the real aircraft.

Installation.

Quite straightforward.

Un-zip the file to a temporary folder and copy or move the entire 'Eclipse 500 VLJ MkII' folder to your FS2004 Aircraft folder.

The aircraft uses the default Lear 45 sounds

The panel uses the Lear 45 gauges

For the landing light effects you will need RNLE2 (rnle2.zip) by Kaveh Payandah, although if you don't have them it doesn't matter, the effects just won't show.

Press shift + E to open the passenger door
